‘THE ORANGE LOCKDOWN MAY CHALLENGE’

Just like all of you, life has changed drastically for Archie, George & Isaac over the past six weeks, due to Covid-19. Due to their disease, they have been at home since the 10th of March. Cocooning. They really miss their friends and the usual routine of life. In saying that, they have not complained once and understand why they have no choice but to stay put!

They are simply amazing!

Just like every other organisation trying to raise funds, The Join Our Boys Trust, has not been able to do the things we normally do because of the restrictions. We are very fortunate, that everyone involved in the Trust is a volunteer, so at least we do not have the worry of meeting a salary bill! However, the challenges we have, remain enormous. We still do not have the funds to finish the house, which we desperately need and secondly, as most of you know, our dearest wish is to find a treatment, ideally a cure for Duchenne Muscular Dystrophy. Being in lockdown means there is no distraction, no escape from witnessing the never ending tsunami that Duchenne unleashes on the boys each day.

There are no words to explain the pain of not being able to provide a solution for them.

In May we do a lot of fundraising as we usually have our ‘Wear Orange Day’, to coincide with George and Isaac’s birthday. We always have enormous support, especially from the local community and the primary schools.

Given, the need to keep everyone safe we decided instead, we would hold the online: ‘Orange Lockdown Challenge’
